ABOUT MYSELF

 Background

In summary, I am Egyptian; I was born and raised in Rome, Italy; and I now reside in the US.  As a diplomat' s son, I grew up traveling and living in different places all over the world, where my travels took me to places that most people usually dream about, so I guess I should consider myself lucky.  This enabled me to experience and appreciate the values of the universes different cultures which cover all ethnicity and religions.

Career and Education

As a child, I always saw myself growing up to be an engineer or a medical doctor. Although I have been working the past 18 years as a Structural Engineer, I started pursuing a parallel career in Automotive Consulting with concentration on Crashworthiness and Occupant Safety. I received my Ph.D in Structural Dynamics from the School of Engineering and Applied Science at the George Washington University in Washington DC in March 1998, and a MBA in Global Management from the University of Phoenix in July 2006 .  My research concentration was Biomechanics of Head Injury and the title of my dissertation  is "Finite Element Modeling of the Surrogate Brain."  After graduating from GW, I started working as an  Engineering Consultant for several product development industries, including Automotive and Medical. In 2006, I resigned from my post as the VP of Engineering for a small engineering services firm, Hoff and Associates, Inc., out in Plymouth, MI . I am currently working for an Aerospace Company,  enjoying a more challenging career in a more global growth-oriented production environment. For more details on my research and professional experience, please check an updated version of my resume.

Interests

As far as what I like to do with my  free time, which I don't have that much of anyways, I basically like to exercise. If I don't go to the gym, I like to play Tennis.  I might go to the pool for a swim, if the weather is nice. I love water, you see, and if I get deserted one day by a beach, I will be a very happy man. I bunji jumped once, and I think I would like to do it again. I love watching movies, and listen to all kind of music except for Rap and Country (which are annoying).
